Delivery Coverage & Postcode Zones
We deliver to most of mainland England, Wales and Scotland. Delivery starts at £10.00 ex VAT and is free on orders over £250 ex VAT in the standard zone. We do not deliver to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Shetland, the Outer Hebrides, Orkney, the Scottish islands, or parts of the remote west Highlands. If your postcode starts BT, IM, GY, JE, ZE or HS, we are no use to you and you should not place an order.
Some mainland Highland districts are excluded too, so do not assume you are covered just because you can drive there. Fort William, Spean Bridge, Glencoe, Ballachulish and Drumnadrochit are all outside our delivery area despite being on the mainland. Check your full outward code against the tables below rather than going by the postcode letters alone.
Everywhere else, the price depends on which of our delivery zones your postcode falls in and how bulky the items are. Longer and heavier goods travel on different networks to small parcels and cost more to send. All figures on this page come straight from the rates our checkout applies, and all are ex VAT.
Where we cannot deliver at all
These are not surcharge areas. There is no carrier we can book and no fee that unlocks them. If your postcode appears below, please buy from a local merchant.
| Postcode | Area | Extent |
|---|---|---|
| BT | Northern Ireland | The whole BT area. |
| GY | Guernsey | The whole GY area. |
| HS | Outer Hebrides | The whole HS area. |
| IM | Isle of Man | The whole IM area. |
| IV | Skye, Wester Ross and Glenurquhart | Islands and some remote mainland districts. Check your full outward code. |
| JE | Jersey | The whole JE area. |
| KW | Orkney | Islands and some remote mainland districts. Check your full outward code. |
| PA | Argyll islands and remote peninsulas | Islands and some remote mainland districts. Check your full outward code. |
| PH | Lochaber, Skye road and the small isles | Islands and some remote mainland districts. Check your full outward code. |
| ZE | Shetland | The whole ZE area. |
What delivery costs where we do deliver
The exact charge depends on the items in your basket. Where an order contains items that ship separately, you are charged the single highest applicable rate, not the sum. These are the ranges you will see at checkout.
| Zone | Covers | Delivery from | Free delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| UK Mainland | Mainland England and Wales, excluding the Devon (TQ) and Cornwall (TR) areas. | £10.00 to £30.00 | Over £250.00 on most ranges |
| Scottish Lowlands and the South West | The Scottish central belt, borders and Dumfries and Galloway, plus Devon (TQ) and Cornwall (TR). | Calculated at checkout | Shown at checkout |
| Scottish Highlands and Northeast | The Highlands and northeast mainland only: the AB, DD, IV, KW, PA and PH areas, islands excluded. | Calculated at checkout | Shown at checkout |
Why the price depends on the product, not just the postcode
A box of fittings goes on a standard parcel network. A 6 metre length of pipe does not fit on one, so it travels on a pallet or a dedicated long-goods vehicle and costs several times more to send to the same address. Rather than average that out and overcharge people buying small items, we pass on what each delivery actually costs. That is why a large order can sometimes carry a lower delivery charge than a small one: it depends on how the goods travel, not on how much you spend.
Why the Scottish Highlands cost more
The Scotland Highlands zone covers the northeast and the Highlands mainland: the AB, DD, IV, KW, PA and PH areas, islands excluded. Carriers price those long, low-density routes at a premium, and some of our bulkier ranges are not carried into the Highlands at all. Where that applies, the product will show as unavailable for your postcode rather than letting you order something that cannot arrive.
Why we do not deliver to Northern Ireland, the islands and parts of the west Highlands
Our products are bulky, heavy and low in value for the space they take up. For those destinations we either have no carrier rate at all, or the rate we can get is high enough that the order would not make sense for either of us. Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands add a sea crossing and a second carrier handover on top of that. The remote west Highland districts are a road distance and drop density problem rather than a sea one, which is why Fort William is excluded while Inverness, further north, is served.
We would rather tell you here than take an order we cannot fulfil. There is nothing to negotiate and no arrangement to ask about, so please do not place an order to a no-delivery postcode.
Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver to Northern Ireland?
No. We cannot ship to any BT postcode, at any price. The same applies to the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Shetland, the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and the Scottish islands.
How long does delivery take?
Most in-stock items are dispatched within 24 hours. Orders placed before 2pm on a weekday are typically dispatched the same day. Delivery is normally 1 to 3 working days after dispatch, depending on your location.
When is delivery free?
Delivery is free on orders over £250 ex VAT for most of the range in the standard zone, which covers mainland England and Wales. Some ranges qualify at a lower order value, and the checkout applies whichever is right for your basket. Delivery is charged in the Scotland Highlands zone.
What if my postcode is a no-delivery area?
We cannot ship there. There is no surcharge that unlocks it and no carrier we can book, so an order to a no-delivery postcode will be cancelled and refunded rather than sent. Please do not place it.
